About
Hello, my name is Nikolas but you may call me Nick if you’d like.
This site is my resume and a place to keep my notes. You can find my coursework and background on the Education page, my work history on the Experience page, and things I’ve built on the Projects page.
I am currently studying towards a Bachelor’s as an Electrical and Computer Engineering student at Rutgers University of New Jersey.
I currently have an Associate’s in Computer Science from Middlesex College of Edison, New Jersey.
I have a burning passion for computers and technology, as I like to tinker/repair devices, build computer & server hardware, build & design circuits, and design & print 3D models via Autodesk Fusion 360.
On the subject of computers and technology, I find it intriguing to be able to “bring” virtual objects into the real world (or vice versa) due to the limitless applications it provides.
I am quite familiar with Windows, macOS, and Linux as I have used them extensively.
I particularly enjoy Linux as it can be tooled to practically fit a multitude of purposes all
while being completely open source and free, meaning that anyone can go out and make their own distro (if you’re looking to get into Linux, please message me, I’d love to chat!).
Get to know me!
Outside of that, I like to play video games, especially if they’re Virtual Reality/Augmented Reality experiences.
The games I like playing are:
- Garry’s Mod
- Minecraft
- Portal/Portal 2
- VRChat
- Team Fortress 2
Just to name a few.
I like being able to build and create contraptions in Garry’s Mod and Minecraft that automate tasks. Portal/Portal 2 really challenges me to think outside the box (with portals) by offering complex and cleverly designed puzzles. VRChat is a platform that allows me to express my creativity in ways that aren’t bounded by the physical contraints of reality in both Virtual Reality and “Flatscreen” modes.
Bonus Trivia:
My favorite band is Caravan Palace, and my favorite song from them is Brotherswing.
Thank you for taking the time to read my introduction.
